《華衣.武藝》」展覽

Background

The exhibition “華衣.武藝” is co-organized by the Student Affairs Office of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Professional and Continuing Education (PolyU SPEED), the Hong Kong Chinese Culture Promotion Association, Central Market, and Twenty One Twenty. With Tai Chi, Wing Chun, and nunchaku as the “warp” and Tai Chi uniforms, long gowns, and casual martial arts wear as the “weft”, the exhibition weaves a cultural dialogue that blends hardness and softness. Taking place grandly on the first floor of Central Market from September 27 to October 12, the exhibition features three major thematic zones: Tai Chi, Wing Chun, and Nunchaku.

Earlier, a group of PolyU SPEED students interested in fashion design participated in a 3D Mini Cheongsam Design Workshop. They learned and engaged in the entire process from 2D design to 3D creation, and personally made 1:2 scale 3D mini cheongsams. The finished works are also on display to the public at Central Market, demonstrating the integration of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary creativity.
